Globex Shipping Sucks

This could be you if you shipped with Globex or El Al Shipping!

It's been months.  You are on the other side of the world.  You are in an empty house.  Your money was taken.  Your items are missing.  You've had months of lame excuses.  They even ask for more money.  Now the company is gone!  The FMC is now involved.

IMPORTANT UPDATE SEPTEMBER 2007

EL AL Shipping - Globex - GONE!

http://www.elalshipping.com/

Apparently shutdown by the FMC September 10th, 2007

Post about El Al on RipOffReport.com

Same address, Same Fax, Same People, Same Website Format and Content

Globex's Website is Gone!  El Al appears.  El Al is gone!

I think I smell some stinkin' fish here

Or was it purely circumstantial that another international moving specialist with exactly the same M.O.

took over Globex's location?  Yeah.  That's probably it.  I'm just paranoid!

No.  I did a little investigating on my own and through private resources.

If you do business with the team of Bella Grushko and Hanan Assayag (husband and wife team from Globex and now at EL AL) you can expect the same results

El Al Shipping is a public company.  When they registered the domain, they have the registration information blocked from the public so you can't see who owns it.  What are they trying to hide?  Individuals do this.  Corporations don't.  But there are ways to find out what's up.

Check the public records on these two companies.  You'll find what I found.

Have you been a victim of these scammers?  Don't waste your time with the Attorney General in Florida.  This branch of government is worthless.  They don't deal with real criminals like this.  They just send form letters.

You'll find some useful information on how to proceed.  People are having some success with the Federal Maritime Commission (fmc.gov)

My  nightmare with Globex started in November 2006

It continued until March 15th 2007

Additional unnecessary direct and indirect expenses approached $9000 over the original $21,665 invoice

It isn't just me that has problems with this company.  Check these sites.

You'll find some very interesting information about the company and the people that run this company

What's up with this site?

Excuse the rambling format.

It developed as a collection of events that seemed to have no end.  Working with them just got worse everyday and the format became a bit unmanageable.  I think it's important that I keep everything here until I can reformat it and finish all the background information, emails, and contracts.  Here is the reason I created it.  It all started with a move from S. California to Tenerife, Spain that was less than perfect and much more expensive than it should have been.  In no way was I responsible for the delays that added thousands of dollars to the cost of the move.

I selected Globex Shipping to ship my household items and automobile in two 40' containers.

I promptly paid for their services, even when the ADDITIONAL charges were not justified

Containers were delivered to be loaded a day late.  Globex did not notify me or the movers that were hired by them to load them.

The containers were picked up November 29th 2006

Later I received an invoice for $1500 for boxes.  The mover used boxes to protect my furniture.  Supposedly this and 70 rolls of tape are NOT part of wrapping my furniture.  FYI.  All my loose items were already packed by me in the SAME $2.50 box the mover (Hollywood Movers) charged $20 for each.  CAN YOU SAY RIPPED OFF?

March update:  The containers were unloaded today.  Surprise!  The quantity of overpriced boxes charged to me by Hollywood Movers, the movers hired by Globex, was incorrect.  They charged for boxes that were not used.  Not a significant event in the entire mess but still an event worth mentioning.

Globex said my containers "sailed" and would be here January 5th.  I rented storage space based on that information.

Globex screwed up the automobile shipment (they blame it on US Customs) in December which delayed the shipment weeks and cost me $640 for their mistake or inability to deal with obviously stupid requests from US Customs.   "International Relocation Experts" should know how to deal with an International Move don't you think?

A unsubstantiated claim taken directly from their website:

"Whether your car is to be shipped inside the US or any other distant place outside the US, Globex will do the job with ease and exceptional professionalism. The customs clearances, the paper work and every other procedural work is handled by the expert staff and the reliable partners worldwide."

They didn't tell me until much later that the shipment of both containers was delayed because of their inability to deal with US Customs requests quickly.

Their request was so outrageous it appeared to be an attempt to steal my car.  They initially refused to do anything unless I signed over ownership of my vehicle by signing the California title.  ONLY after threatening them with a call to the police did they properly take action.

Everything shipped and was scheduled to arrive January 28th per Globex.  Now I start getting unusual requests for documents from the agent in Spain.  They don't know what to do with the requests from customs.  I independently work out the government paperwork requests.  An "International Moving Expert" should know how to deal with an international move don't you think?  But Globex says this is my problem.  No.  There was no problem other than them not knowing how to properly respond to requests from customs in Spain.

Another claim from their website that was not substantiated by their performance:

"Globex International provides shipment internationally from origin to destination. Our knowledge of port services and our reciprocal arrangements with trustworthy forwarders in every port enables us to move your cargo efficiently and safely. Globex International provides both direct and consolidated air, sea rail and truck services. We take responsibility for ensuring that all the licenses and paperwork are in order and stay with your shipment until it has been accepted by the consignee."

The shipment arrived at the port in Tenerife on January 24th.  Globex thinks it will arrive on the 28th when they send me a message to pay for their mistake described above.  I complained again but promptly paid it.  My account is now clear.  I owe them nothing.

The shipment cleared Spanish customs on February 14th

February 19th.  Globex tells me they wired money to the agent "last week"  This turns out to be a partial payment.  They don't fully pay the agent until March!

Furthermore paying them last week was too late.  The agent should have been paid when my items arrived.

The agent in Tenerife is Gil Stauffer.  This company doesn't do a thing until they are FULLY paid per their agreement with Globex.

When the containers don't move, there are storage costs and I had to pay them.

They did not communicate with the agent's multiple requests for information on the payment.

The agent charged me over $3000 for storage costs because they were not paid in full by Globex by the time my items cleared customs.  It took Globex almost 1 full month after customs cleared to fully pay the agent so they would deliver my items.

Delays and Expenses just kept getting larger!

I plan to post EVERY contract and email sent to and received from Globex.  Nothing censored.

You can then decide if this is a company you want to use for shipping your valuables.

Once they pick up your items, they WILL hold them hostage if you don't pay!

They hide behind their Swiss Cheese contract when they screw up!  They even try to invoke the contract terms when they don't pay their agents and your items are delayed resulting in storage charges.  This is total B.S.

They have no concept of customer service.  It is reflected in their communications with the client.

What company would BLOCK incoming email from a client?

My Mission

My mission, since I've decided to accept it, is to share my experience using Globex so you can make an informed decision.  I do things like this.  Consider it a public service.  I hate getting burned and I don't like to see others receive the same.  I also want to create a public forum for others that have had problems with this company.  I'm obviously not the only person.  I've found posting from other people that had a negative experience and I'm starting to receive email from those that found the site and want to share their problems with Globex.

There's going to be a lot of information for those thinking of using Globex Shipping, Globex International, or whatever this company based in New Jersey and Florida wants to call themselves.  Here are links to the company websites:

http://www.globexshipping.com/   (Aug 2007 - The website is "under construction" - What's this about?)

http://www.globex-shipping.com/ (This one is still around)

They seem to be located in New Jersey and Florida.  I also found a company with an identical website but a different name in California.

  • The New Jersey BBB has complaints on file from others.
  • I've filed a complaint with the better business bureau in Boynton Beach, FL.

  • I am filing complaints with the Attorney General in Florida and New Jersey.

  • Investigating which Federal Agency has authority over this matter.

  • I have contacted lawyers in Spain, Florida, and New Jersey.  We are waiting for the final outcome of the move before proceeding.  That means items delivered and bogus charges paid to Globex and their "trustworthy forwarders in every port".

Summary of my problems with Globex

Mistakes and lack of attention to details have cost me THOUSANDS of dollars and weeks of lost time, frustration, etc.

They have missed every significant milestone in this move.
  • Late to deliver the containers
  • Late to notify people involved in loading the containers
  • Late/Never responding to email
  • Late in providing timely updates to me
  • Late to ship the container out of Houston
  • Very late on the arrival date in Spain
  • Very late in paying the agent in Spain
  • Very Very late in delivering the containers to my location

But they weren't slow in some things like:

  • Closing the sale
  • Sending invoices
  • Collecting ALL money before the work was done
  • Finding their names on this website

There's a person that supposedly updates you once they ship.  They only update you when they want money for the extra charges.  They never provide useful updates.  Just threats to keep your stuff or leave it if you don't pay up!  They have no idea where my shipment is even though it is in port.

They NEVER told me when something would NOT be delivered as scheduled.  Mover show up.  No containers.  I rent storage.  Containers haven't shipped!

They used "agents" that have ripped me off on charges, been unable to deal with simple paperwork, and unable to deal with local authorities.

The staff, with the exception of the initial sales contact, has been rude and unresponsive.

They delivered inaccurate invoices.  You can't send somebody an invoice with the same number months later and add charges to it.  Accounting 101..  The "second invoice" in January contained charges for things I paid in December.

The staff lied to the Florida BBB about the resolution of my complaint against them.  I paid the extra charges only to prevent a delay and extra charges.  Period.  We didn't resolve it.

They promote themselves as experts in moving vehicles yet they have no clue how to properly handle an international move.  They totally screwed up the document process for moving my car to Europe.  What they wanted me to do was so suspicious I threatened to call the FBI because I had only one logical assumption from the request..  Fraud.  In the end, I think they were just stupid and had no idea how to handle the paperwork or deal with US customs stupid requests.   The shipment of the car and household items was delayed an extra month.  The idiots threatened to charge me for storage costs over their screw-up and told me I could pickup my vehicle in the USA port of departure if I didn't do as they improperly demanded.  They threatened to leave my car at the shipping port in Houston because I wouldn't sign the title that didn't need to be signed.  Signing a California title releases ownership in a vehicle.  There's no way in hell I'd do that!

I contest their charges in Houston for their screw-up.  The response is pay or your things won't be released.  Their incompetence cost me hundreds in fees.

I contest $1500 in box charges.  The response it $20 per box is reasonable for $2.50 boxes that they used to protect my furniture which should be free per the contract!  Oh yes.  They charged for about 70 rolls of tape too.

The shipment was SUPPOSED to be delivered in early January per their email.  I've been paying for rented storage based on that estimate.  They did not tell me until long after that date that the items would be late because of their customs screw-up which cost me additional customs fees in Houston.

They claim to be a member of AMSA (www.moving.org).  They display this organization's logo on their website.   I contacted the AMSA in December 2006 after I started to become suspicious.  I was told they are NOT a member.  AMSA requested that they remove their logo.  As of February 15, 2007 it was still posted.  2 full months after I contacted AMSA and after they were told to take it down.  Here is the logo to look for:

My shipment cleared Spanish customs but won't be delivered by the agent here!  Why?  They haven't been paid (February 16, 2007) by Globex.  Once again, my items are being held hostage by Globex or one of it's agents.  I've paid Globex on-time even when the charges should NOT be billed to me and the invoices are screwed up.  Globex at every opportunity has threatened to hold my items if I do not pay their inaccurate invoices that contain additional charges.  Now that they have all my money, they still don't deliver.  This is BULLSHIT!

I'm not sure about the legality of the agent holding my items because they haven't been paid.  The contract was between the agent and Globex.  We'll deal with this later if things don't get straightened up.

Etc..  Etc..  Etc..  Way to much to list now but every detail will be made public so potential customers can make an informed decision to use this mover or not.

February 16th - 2PM GMT - It has been one full week since my items cleared Spanish customs and the Globex agent here contacted me.  The agent called again today to say they have NOT been paid or contacted by Globex.  I received an email yesterday (Feb 15th) from a person at Globex, a director who's name we won't mention here.  She said "We are working on getting your shipment delivered.  We'll get back to you shortly".

February 16th - 4:53 PM GMT - "THE DIRECTOR" says the wire was sent last night!  Why wasn't the agent in Tenerife informed?  This is Globex's agent.  I have no agreement with Gil Stauffer Moving.

Late in February - My email starts bouncing when sent from my domain!  Globex has blocked it!  I now have to communicate with them using public email such as hotmail.  There was no threats from me.  Just pointed questions.  When I contact "THE DIRECTOR" she says she doesn't want to hear from me anymore.  Keep in mind they still have all my possessions and they have not paid the agent here to deliver them.  This starts to get interesting.

February 19th - 4:30 PM GMT - Agent here has heard nothing from Globex.  I've received no response to my email the 18th and I just sent the following:

 My message today..

They told me today that they still haven't heard from you regarding the payment.

This is B.S.  You are seriously testing my patience.  I have business plans that are on hold until I receive my shipment.  I should not be involved with your company's accounts payables.  Your company was paid promptly by me even when it wasn't justified.  You supposedly knew this shipment would be here by January 28.  It's February 19th.  Getting the agent paid should not even be an issue.

I need to know today EXACTLY when the company here will receive the funds.
Bella responds..  She hates B.S.  Sensitive person I guess..

Sir,

The money was transferred last week as I informed you already.
All the banks are closed in US today because of the national Holiday but we'll contact them tomorrow morning to find out where the funds are.  Funds were deducted from our account last week.
I do appreciate that next time you contact us, you will not use this type of language.

  My response to "The Director".

Right..  And just what language would you prefer?  Spanish?  Italian?

You guys just crack me up.  Pick on the trivia, answer nothing, and do nothing to resolve a volatile situation.  Don't try to give me a bad time over your lack of response to my service requests.  I suggest you take this move as seriously as I do.  This is the worst performance I've seen from a company that received this amount of cash from me.

From my point of view based on what I'm now seeing, this is a SCAM and you are not paying the agent.  It's just a delay tactic.  I'm just trying to figure out when to get the authorities involved and who to go after if the agent isn't paid this week so I can receive my items early next week.

Once again.  Read it again.  Why haven't you communicated AT ALL with the agent here?  Why did you deliberately delay payment weeks and cause me to incur additional expenses?  You knew the arrival would be the January 28th.  I have the date in the email threat to pay up the $600+ charges you improperly charged or my items would be held.  You were promptly paid.

March 11th - 4:30 PM GMT - I still don't have my items.  The agent here is trying to charge me over $3000 in storage costs because they were not paid by Globex.  Globex says any storage costs are my responsibility per my contract!  Incredible.  How do these people sleep at night when they treat customers like this?  We have contacted lawyers on both sides of the Atlantic.

March 12th - 5 PM GMT - I still don't have my items.  I paid 3760+ EURO (about $5000) today to the agent Gil Staubber.  IT IS VERY CLEAR WHO DIDN'T PERFORM.  GLOBEX.  THEY ARE THE PRIMARY CONTRACTOR.  THEY SAY THEY ARE INTERNATIONAL RELOCATION EXPERTS.  THEY DON'T PAY THEIR AGENTS AND AS A RESULT YOUR ITEMS WILL BE HELD.  WHEN THEY ARE HELD, YOU WILL PAY STORAGE COSTS ACCORDING TO GLOBEX'S CONTRACT or so they say.

The agent didn't deliver.  Now I pay $100 per day that they don't deliver!  They say it might get delivered on Wednesday March 14th.

Some interesting facts from sitting in Gil Staubber's offices today in Santa Cruz de Tenerife:

  • Fact:  My items arrived in port Jan 24th and cleared customs so they could be delivered around February 14th.
  • Fact:  Globex says that my agent in Spain is Gil Staubber.
  • Fact:  I have NO agreement with Gil Staubber.  It is with Globex.
  • Fact:  Globex and Staubber have an agreement between them.
  • Fact:  Staubber says they had an agreement with Globex to be paid in full before delivery.
  • Fact:  Globex was fully paid my me on-time.  The last invoice presented was in January which was an additional charge for their mistake in Houston.  $600+.
  • Fact:  Staubber says they received partial payment February 22nd, long after my items arrived and cleared customs.
  • Fact:  Staubber says they received the balance March 8th.
  • Fact:  Globex says I have one week to get my items out of customs after they clear or I have to pay storage.
  • Fact:  Globex says (per my contract) that I am responsible for storage costs.  Perhaps.  If they are my delays.  But in this case they were not.  They were incurred because of Globex.  I've been ready since January 6th, the original arrival date!

Sucks doesn't it?  It's going to take a few good lawyers on both sides of the Atlantic to straighten these two out.  Hopefully the Attorney General of Florida and New Jersey will deal with Globex at a higher level than their wallets.

March 15th!  Oh happy day.  Everything was delivered.  Final Email volleys.

I am surprised that my messages went through today.  As I mentioned on this site, they blocked incoming messages in February.  The only way to communicate was by hotmail.

Globex went to the trouble to send me a generic form letter asking what I thought about their services.  Take a look.  Isn't this thoughtful!  Maybe we can be friends after they refund all the excessive charges and other costs I incurred because of their miserable performance.  "The Director" continues to not respond to the problems they created.  "The Director" only attempts to insult me and diminish the seriousness of the situation.

  My Response to Bella....

Dear customer?  Wow.  That's really personal.  Don't waste my time with these stupid emails.

Yes.  My things are here.

The next step is for my lawyer to contact you to begin legal action.  One of my legal issues is to recover excessive charges for storage because you didn't pay you agent fully and on time.  I've collected sufficient information to prove that you didn't even begin to pay them until after the items had cleared customs.  Your agreement with the agent was to pay them in full before they picked up and unloaded my items.  So I'm out THOUSANDS of dollars in storage that is not a result of my inaction or payment.  It was the fault of Globex.  It's a pretty strong case.

My opinion and comments of your company and it's services is quite well known by <The Friendly Globex Director> and I'm sharing every bit of the dirty truth with the world.  I've even created a website for you!

There..  Check the site.  That's my opinion.  It will be updated shortly.

Sincerely,

Gary W.  Cook

Director Bella responds to my email and continues to answer nothing but throw barbs.  Absolutely nothing mentioned about my complaint.  That's the way it has been from the beginning and it looks like it will remain that way at the end.

I’m glad to hear that you received you goods in good order so have a wonderful life and hope to never hear from you again.

Hopefully my last contact with Bella at Globex...

Thank you Bella. Your professionalism never ceases to amaze me.  Comments like this are going to make you famous on the internet!  Your company is already at the top of Google searches for "Globex Shipping problems" and you my friend can also be found at the top with "globex shipping Bella".

The offer stands for you to offer up any corrections or explanations for what I've said on the website.  No.  I won't accept "it's in the contract" because that doesn't cover the fact that you did NOT pay Gil Stauffer in full by the time my items were to leave customs and they did not receive full payment until March.  That's NOT in my contract.  That's why I'm stuck with your bill.

Don't think I'm going to drop this.  I collected enough information from Gil Stauffer Movers in Tenerife to nail your company.

And I haven't been a problem from day one.  I have all the email to prove that your company was the problem.

BTW.  I don't know who stole the key from my car while it was in transit from California to Houston.  It was not in the car when the container was opened today.  I hope they don't try to use it to steal the car.  There was a key in the car as directed by you limited documentation.  Any attempts to use the key to steal the car and I'll point the police to your company and agents.

I honestly don't know how people can run a company like Globex and still sleep at night knowing what they are doing to their customers.

Sincerely,

Gary W. Cook

There you have it all.  March 15, 2007.  2 1/2 months late on delivery.  Thousands of dollars in charges I should not have paid.  Rude, insensitive people that absolutely will not take care of any problem.  Globex doesn't want me as a customer again.  I'm heartbroken.  Does anybody really want to work with Globex Shipping?

Complaints about Globex from other customers

I guess I'm not the only customer that has had some problems with them.  Thanks to the Internet and the power of search engines like Google we can get the message out to the world when things like this are going on.

A response from another "customer" of Globex.  Lucky for them they found my website.

This email is exactly as I received it.  I removed the person's move information which I think is best not listed.  It was from somewhere in the USA to somewhere in Europe.

I also removed names here.  The original emails are available.

I'm writing after a series of unfortunate events with Global Express Shipping of which the only fortunate event was stumbling upon your website...which led us to the decision to cancel our order, only loosing our deposit instead of the entire amount plus all our valuable possessions!!  So, MANY MANY thanks for putting together your website....we've had equally frustrating experiences, however, we're lucky enough to find your website and eventually decide to cancel for fear that we'd continue down the path that your goods seem to be on...

I'm very sorry to hear of your experiences, but thank you for publishing them, and please feel free to add our experiences to your website...i've listed them below:

We arranged a move from [removed] to [removed] (with the NJ based part of Globex), and initially had conversations with [Globex Employee] which were all very helpful and informative, and she was always very cheerful and responded to all our emails very quickly.

The first time I got suspicious was when I was sent the 'confirmation' email from [Globex Employee - Director]--after we paid our deposit, and was told to contact a [Globex Employee] if i had any queries before our posessions left [removed].  I contacted [Globex Employee] b/c i had a few more questions and she was very rude AND she didn't have ANY answers to my questions, she was completely ignorant!

The second time I got suspicious was when, a week before our move was scheduled [removed], I contacted [Globex Employee] with some questions about their insurance company and she said 'oh no, we've changed companies, i need to send you the new form to fill out', so she sent it, we filled it out, faxed it back...but had some questions..so we tried to phone and email both [Globex Employee]  AND [Globex Employee 2]  many many times...no one EVER got back to us....

Thirdly, on the day of the scheduled move, no one showed up and no one called my dad (we're alraedy in [Globex Employee]) to tell them they weren't coming...neither my dad nor me could get in contact with ANYONE at global express despite approx. FIFTEEN phone calls made out of our own expense and numerous emails...we were constantly put on hold and told someone would call back...did anyone ever?? of course not.  So we started getting nervous and searching for more info about the company..when we luckily stumbled upon your website--thank you millions!! They never showed up on the day of the scheduled move and then said they'd come in the 'evening' the next day....

We had a chat and decided to cancel the order--also AFTER we called the Better Business Bureau in NJ who said that Global express is not EVEN REGISTERED with them!! so they might be in FL or Ca, but certainly NOT NJ...so they are LYING!!!!!...the minute we sent the email to cancel the order, [Globex Employee] emails back saying 'well we've got your money now' there's nothing you can do to get your deposit back'...ha ha ha...that was the one and only time when she was immediate with her reply back to us...

Anyway, I wanted to share our experiences with you and feel free to publish them...obviously I hope they go out of business and no one ever uses them again!!! thank you very much and I wish you the best of luck in receiving your goods....

Complaints about this site from Globex and it's staff

They can't pay their agents or deliver my items but they seem to find my website and take time to comment.

Here's what Bella from Globex thinks about my site and comments.  Taken from an email sent February 15th, 2007.

I'm not too happy with your comments as well as information you posted on the internet which is totally incorrect.

We are in business for many years.
We are working on getting your shipment delivered.
We'll get back to you shortly.

  Ok Bella..  I've succeeded!

I wasn't trying to make you happy.  I'm at wits end trying to get the point across that Globex is doing a crappy job with my move.

I don't understand your statement about being in business.  I didn't even ask.  Just where did I say how long your company had been in business?

March 15th 2007 update.

This is VERY important.  The email above is dated February 15, 2007.  The items have cleared customs.  The agent should have been fully paid by this time so they can pickup the containers and deliver them to me.  They won't do anything until FULLY paid.  The payment above is a PARTIAL payment to the agent.  They will not receive full payment until March 8th.  The impact to me was that my items sat and incurred storage costs.  This information was provided to my by the agent in Tenerife which is Gil Stauffer Moving.  When I pushed the issue, my email was blocked from my domain 7canaryislands.com.  I went to my hotmail account as asked again about the payment and told them blocking email was not something one should do to customers.  My accusation was that blocked email can lead one to assume something like fraud might be taking place.

Here the response from Bella regarding my questions about blocked email, payments, and other issues on the 27th of February.  Per the updated information above, this is a lie.  They are not fully paying the agent.

Sir,
We are no longer wish to communicate with you in such a disgusting way. You are not to disrespect this company.
Your accusations are far beyond normal.
We wired the money to deliver agent last week.  They received the proof of wire from us.
they will contact you to arrange delivery.

Best Regards
Bella

March 16th 2007 update.  Someone from Globex called saying "they really don't mind that I am publishing my problems but I can't publish the names of employees.  Right.  I initally complied simply because it doesn't matter.  If this is all they care about, it just builds my case against them.  They have no concern for the problems they created.  Makes the email sent yesterday (re. DELIVERY CONFIRMATION) look ridiculous, right?

If you are having problems with a Globex employee, feel free to drop me a line and I'll share my experiences.

Here's my response to their telephone call to the house today.  I emailed their info account and a copy was sent to Bella

I don't know who called and I really don't care.

Per your request I have temporarily removed all employee names from the website. I will ask my attorney if your request is valid. In the end, it really doesn't matter that names are listed or not. I don't care. If you don't want them on the site, that's fine with me. It won't be worth the effort to add them again anyway.

FYI. Some legalize for you.

All email correspondence is considered public information when it is sent outside a company to another company or individual unless it is of proprietary nature or copyrighted. Since the communications between us involved no trade secrets and was not marked as such, only corporate telephone numbers and addresses were used, no attempt was made to encrypt or encode it, no interpretation of the email was made, and all the email is a verbose copy of what you sent to my email server which becomes my property, All information presented is a true representation of the communications between us during our contracted business relationship. Therefore you are obviously incorrect in your threat of liability today March 16, 2007.

Furthermore I do not want any further telephone calls from Globex. All communications must be written with the following exception. Only in the case where you are calling to arrange a refund of overcharges such as the boxes not actually used, roll fees while you mishandled my shipment, the cost to replace the locks on my car because the key was stolen, and storage costs in Tenerife while you failed to pay your agent.

If you wish to settle this matter and that with another disgruntled customer, I suggest you act quickly. Time is money.

My Recommendations

Do not give all the money up front.  Pay as they perform.  They are collecting money to pay agents.  If they don't pay their agents, your items don't move.  When they don't move, there are costs to be paid by somebody.  In my case, it wasn't Globex.  They screwed up.  I paid.  Make sure there's no loophole in the contract.  Make sure that if they screw up, they are responsible for the costs.

Check with the BBB for any mover you decide to use.  I've filed one complaint against Globex Shipping.  with the BBB that covers Boynton Beach, Florida.  I'll probably file a couple more.  The BBB won't do anything but they will keep the complaint on file.  Try to find out all locations where they do business and check each BBB.

Do your research before signing.  Check http://www.movingscam.com/

Don't trust the logo on the website.  Check with the organization it belongs to.  See if the company is really a member.  Globex lied about their memberships.  Others may do the same.

Ask for references.

Get all costs up front.

If you are having trouble communicating with them, that should raise a red flag.  If the quality of the correspondence isn't professional, again I'd be suspicious.  Contracts that a simple Word documents should also be questioned.  They are obviously not worried about the customer changing something because they don't care.  They aren't planning to deliver the services properly anyway.  No business would ever turn loose an unprotected Word document over email to be signed and returned.

Watch out for exclusions in the contract.  They may put something like "customs fees" as an exclusion.  That fee may be caused by the mover or customs incompetence but you'll pay!  This is part of the SCAM.  It lets them take no responsibility for their actions or lack of them.

Company Profile

No company here.  Just a disgruntled customer.  When I'm disgruntled..  Well, I get pissed and create websites to publicly flog the crappy company..  For example, my other site:

http://www.MyChryslerSucks.com/

Enormously Famous site about crappy cars from a crappy company. Top of Google searches for Daimler-Chrysler quality sucks, etc..  3 to 4 GoogleMarks rating.

If anybody has any negative experiences with this company I'd like to hear about it.  PLEASE..  Join the Google Group I created!  Share your experiences.  Help others recover their shipments.  This is especially critical with the latest scam under the El Al Shipping company.

Thanks to those that have responded and joined the discussion group!  I knew I wasn't the only victim of this company.

Anybody.  Feel free to contact me if you require additional information regarding this fiasco.

And let me not forget my good friends at Globex..  Feel free to contact me with any corrections.  If they are truly inaccurate, I'll make the correction and acknowledge it.  I want to accurately portray our relationship over they last 4 months.  I am certain everything posted here is true but I might have overlooked something or made a typographical mistake or two..  I really want to be accurate.  It's really hard to do when you only answer 1 out of 10 questions, respond with threats and lies when you do, and block valid, non-threatening, incoming email from me.  But I'm listening and I would never block email from a company.

And finally a message to Bella..  I apologize for entering the abbreviation "B.S." in my email one time.   I'm surprised you've never heard that before.  It just slipped out during one of those many moments of frustration I've felt dealing with you and your lack of service.  I am very sorry you found my accurate description of your response "disgusting.  I promise to never use "B.S." again in a message.  I've had enough B.S. from you for the rest of my life!
